The Daycamp roof at Riva Avenue in East Brunswick was in real bad shape when I was called to fix it. As you can see by photos there was tons of rot. We had to rebuild rafters/ new plywood/ new fans and vents. A low pitch rubber glue down roof had to be weaved into a Dimensional roof. Not a job for your average inexperienced roofer.

While tearing off this roof we found 6 cracked rafters. We sistered in new 2×6’s to the old. We Installed 16 new CDX plywood. We worked around 6 old Velux skylights and installed an Owens Corning Duration 50 year roof, along with new seamless aluminum gutters. The work was completed in one day in East Brunswick on Yorktown road.

This house still had the original Yankee “Built in” gutters. These are always a problem causing leaks. You can see how we removed the old “BOX,” installed new 2×6 sister rafters, 3/4 inch CDX decking and 1×6 pine fascia. Then we covered it all with white aluminum to BLEND in the look of old with new. It took some time to find old used aluminum siding to match better with their old siding. Most companies would just have used new siding & it would never match shiny clean new next to old dull dirty. Last we installed modern .032 aluminum gutters and leaders screwed into the new plum fascia’s.

This horse barn in Freehold, NJ is over 200 years old. A large piece of the roof/rafters fell off the building. This is a busy working horsefarm. The manager of the farm needed this fixed right away. I first saw the job on a Friday in February. We did the job the very next Monday after a snow storm. New rafters/ braces/ roofing. The photos tell the story. John Asch contracting is able to take care of your emergency right away.

This homeowner had leaks for a number of years that no contractor was able to fix. Contractors where trying to fix the roof, but that was not the problem. The owner was paying good money for these repairs, but never got a guarantee. I explained to the owners that the leak was from the step flashing under the woodshake siding. The only way to solve the leak with a 10 year guarantee was to remove the siding. Install ice and water shield. New roofing along the wall. New step flashing. Install new primed cedar shake. We gave it one coat of latex paint. No more worries.

This house was build over 110 years ago. Over the years, the old Yankee gutters were removed and replaced with modern roof shingles and aluminum gutters. The old rotted wood underneath it all was never fixed. I was hired to fix all the rotted wood. Rebuild the soffits/fascia put slates back on the front of house and new dimensional roofing on the 3 sides. We also put in new wood around windows with new step flashing. We put one coat of primer under the soffits just to get the house thru the winter. This spring we will go back to give it a 2nd coat of primer and 2 coats of paint. After that we will install copper ridge roll on the corners and decorative mouldings under the soffits. Not the kind of work every roofer wants, but we are not your average roofer.
